Jaipur, also popularly known as the pink city is primarily recognized for its exceptional forts, pretentious palaces and sparkling temples. The beautiful City palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. City Palace stands apart, with its dazzling art and architecture. It shells a vast area, which is divided into sequence of gardens, courtyards and buildings. Raja Man Singh I, the army commander of the Mughal army started the construction of the Amber Palace. Later on the construction work of the fort and palace was concluded by Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh. Constructed in red sandstone and white marble, the palace is a magnificent blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Jantar Mantar is the largest stone observatory in the World. It is one of the five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. These structures with their prominent mishmash of geometric forms at large scale have obsessed the attention of architects, artists, and art historians worldwide.
